Welcome to my Cuban Photo Site

the-life.jpg

I have travelled to Cuba many times and wanted to share what makes this country so special a place to visit. I have had trips as short as 4 days to Havana, and as long as 28 days visiting Havana, Isla de la Juventud, Cayo Largo and Varadero. Although I have done the "All Inclusive" type trip, I much prefer to get out and explore and spend my nights at a Casa Particular or private home.

To view each photo, click the title link to each photo on the menu bar at the left. As a photographer, I have taken the liberty of putting each photo on a separate page or at a large enough size that details may be appreciated. Some pages contain only a single photo while others are a montage on the same subject. You'll just have to look to see. This site is best viewed at 1024 x 768 or higher screen resolution. A full caption and historical description accompanies each photo along with personal observations where appropriate.

As a Toronto Canada based photographer, I enjoy travelling to Cuba, not because of the politics, but rather because of the people who have made my many trips such a pleasure. Special thanks are in order for Magaly and Lesme who's Casa Particular in Havana has become almost my second home.

Because of the socio-political culture that has existed in Cuba for the past 43 years, the island offers a unique experience compared to any other destination. And with a love of photography, this culturally and architecturally rich nation offers many wonderful photo opportunities. Of course looking at me here, you can also see that there are many opportunities to sample a fine Ron Havana Club Anjeo and a nice Cohiba cigar ! ! ! There is much of Cuba that I have yet to explore, but each trip expands my appreciation of the Cuban people and their culture. I always count the days till my next trip.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to view my website and look forward to hearing your comments should you decide to send me some. Just click on the Contact Steve tab to the left. Thanks and Gracias
