In Habana Vieja (Old Havana) on the north side of Plaza de Armas sit the Palacio de Segundo Cabo (Palace of the Second Lieutenant, circa 1770) on the left, and the Castillo de la Real Fuerza on the right. The Castillo, finished in 1582 is the oldest of the four forts that guarded Havana harbour and it was the Cuban Governor's residence until 1762. Like all good defences, it has a moat that surrounds it, making for nice reflections.
